Troubleshooting Common Issues
1. No Drive Letter After Connection
Possible Causes:
- New PSSD not initialized or partitioned
- No drive letter assigned
- File system unrecognized by current system
- Defective USB data cable
- Poor USB‑port power supply or contact
- Compatibility issues caused by connection via hub, docking station or adapter
- PSSD hardware fault
Solutions:
- Switch to another computer USB port. For desktops, use rear‑panel motherboard USB ports preferentially.
- Replace with original or certified high‑speed data cable.
- Avoid testing through hubs, docking stations or extension cables.
- Open Windows Disk Management to check drive status.
- If capacity shows normally but no drive letter exists, manually assign a drive letter.
- For new drives with no critical data, initialize, partition and format the disk.
- If unrecognizable on multiple computers, contact after‑sales support for inspection.
2. Disk Management Shows “Unallocated”
Possible Causes:
- No partition created on new PSSD
- Partition deleted
- Corrupted partition table
- Lost original partition
Solutions:
- For new PSSD with no important data: create a new simple volume and format it.
- For PSSD containing existing data: do not directly create new partitions or format; evaluate data‑recovery options first.
3. Disk Management Shows RAW
- RAW means the system cannot identify the current file system.
Possible Causes:
- Corrupted file system
- No safe ejection before disconnection
- Abnormal power loss
- Transfer interruption
- File‑system incompatibility
- Storage‑media anomaly
Solutions:
- Do NOT click format if important data is stored.
- Stop writing new files immediately.
- Try reading the drive on the original host or another operating system.
- If data backup is unnecessary, re‑format and test.
- If RAW status recurs frequently, check PSSD health and contact after‑sales service.
4. Disk Management Shows “Not Initialized”
Possible Causes:
- Brand‑new PSSD
- Missing or damaged partition table

- For brand‑new empty drive: initialize as GPT or MBR as required.
- Do NOT initialize directly if the drive contains existing data.

5. Disk Management Shows “No Media” or 0 Bytes

6. System Prompts “The disk needs to be formatted”
Possible Causes:
- Corrupted file system
- No safe ejection
- Unexpected power loss

- Target device does not support this file system
- Damaged partition table
Solutions:
- Do NOT perform formatting when important data exists.
- Try reading on an alternative computer or OS.
- If no critical data remains, format to a file system supported by your target device.

7. Slow Transfer Speed
Possible Causes:
- Connected to USB 2.0 port
- Low‑speed cable or charge‑only cable

- UASP disabled or device not running in high‑speed mode
- Transfer of numerous small‑size files
- Heavy background system workload
- Antivirus‑software scanning
- Very low remaining free space on PSSD
- Cache exhaustion caused by long‑duration writes
- Thermal throttling due to temperature rise
Solutions:
- Use USB 3.x or higher‑speed ports.
- Use original or certified high‑speed data cables.
- Desktop users prefer rear‑panel motherboard USB ports.
- Avoid hubs, docking stations and extension cables.
- Use single large files for speed testing.
- Close unnecessary background tasks and antivirus scans.
- Maintain adequate free storage space.
- Retest after the PSSD cools down.
8. Drive Drops or Disconnects During Operation

- Poor cable contact

- PSSD does not support TRIM / UNMAP

- Inaccurate judgment from detection software
Solutions:
- Check product specifications for explicit TRIM support statement.

(11. macOS NTFS read‑only)

- PSSD formatted as NTFS. macOS natively supports NTFS read‑only, without direct write permission.
Solutions:
- For cross‑platform Windows + macOS usage: back‑up data and format to exFAT.
- If NTFS must be retained: deploy third‑party NTFS write‑support software.
- Always confirm data backup before formatting.
12. Cannot Read on TV, Car‑Head‑Unit or Game Console
Possible Causes:
- Target device does not support current file system
- Target device does not support this drive capacity
- Target device does not support GPT partition table
- Insufficient USB power supply from host device
